The Centre national des Archives is the national archive of Algeria. History The archives were part of the Ministry of Information and Culture from 1962 to 1971. The archives were formerly supervised by the Directorate of National Records (created by Decree No. 71/36, issued on 3 June 1971) and the Advisory Council for the National Archives (created by Decree No. 74/75). On 20 March 1977, Decree No. 77 was issued, which regulated and clarified the role and functions of the Consultative Council for National Archives, the Central Repository of National Documents, and the Directorate of the National Archives. Ordinance No. 71/56 of August 5, 1971 related to the management of the National Archives, which was attached to the Ministry of Culture. National Archives Of Cameroon
The National Archives of Cameroon (French: Archives nationales du Cameroun) (est. 1966) is the national archives of Cameroon. Its main location is in Yaoundé and has a library which holds 64,000 volumes. There is an annex in Buea with early material. Maintenance of the National Archives falls within the responsibilities of the Ministry of Arts and Culture. The archive closed in 2016 for what promises to be a long running reorganization and digitization of its files. Researchers can still request access by writing to the director with a list of specific documents they wish to access. It is also possible to order digital photos of documents for a fee. The National Archives of Haiti were first established in 1860. The archives hold the records of the office of the President and most government ministries. They are currently participating in the Digital Library of the Caribbean's ''Protecting Haitian Patrimony Initiative.'' History The Archives Nationales d'Haiti (ANH) were created by a Presidential Decree on August 20, 1860. The Decree occurred under the government of Fabre Geffrard (1859-1867). The Decree established the "General Archives of Finances" which were the Republic of Haiti's first formal and official archives. Archives Nationales D'outre-mer
The Archives nationales d'outre-mer in Aix-en-Provence is a branch of the Archives Nationales of France that documents the French colonial empire. According to one scholar, "half the history of France overseas was represented in the mass of papers" first assembled in Aix in 1966. The materials originated in various offices and repositories scattered throughout the colonies. The Dépôt des Archives d'Outre-Mer opened in 1966, and its successor, the Centre des Archives d'Outre-Mer, in 1987. It was later renamed the "Archives nationales d'outre-mer." Its facilities occupy a site near the Université de Provence Aix-Marseille I. The archives groups its holdings by ministry, territory, document format (images, maps); it also has non-government materials.
